Beta Support for Android Localization Now Available on String Catalog

We're excited to announce that String Catalog now supports Android localization, with beta support for projects using XML string resources in the res/values directory.

If your Android app uses strings.xml files, String Catalog now lets you manage those localizations automatically—no manual uploads required. Just connect your GitHub repo and String Catalog will keep your translations in sync.

How It Works

  1. Connect your GitHub account and link your Android project.
  2. String Catalog automatically detects and imports your strings.xml files.
  3. Manage your keys, translations, and context in a clean, collaborative interface.
  4. Changes are synced back to your repo via pull requests—no manual exports needed.

This update is ideal for Android teams looking to streamline localization or for multi-platform projects that want a unified workflow.

Why Use String Catalog for Android?

  • GitHub Sync: No need to upload files—localizations stay up to date automatically.
  • Cross-Platform Support: Manage Android, iOS, and web strings all in one place.
  • Editor-Friendly: Let translators work without touching XML or code.

This feature is currently in beta, and we’d love your feedback as we continue improving Android support.
